La Rue, Latin American artist, graduated in Visual Arts and Aesthetics from the Universidad del Valle. Painter passionate about street art and sculpture, born in the city of Cali-Colombia. During her training she developed an aesthetic based on the creation of female characters with windows and orifices that allegorically expose their emotions to the outside through flowers, insects or weeds. These women with introspective white eyes that look inside themselves, carry with them a disturbing tinge that within his work wishes to break with certain barriers of appearance and idealized behavior of the traditional female representation.
In a conscious or unconscious way, most of La Rue's works are born from the autobiographical and self-referential. Painting has always been for her more than a tool of communication and representation, it has also been an instrument of catharsis and liberation to close cycles, to confront situations, to create alternate realities or to understand her own interpretation of the world.
