Ana La Cadena confiesa que sí encontrara las palabras necesarias para contar todo aquello que tiene que contar, escribiría libros, poemas o daría charlas. Pero pinta, casi como una necesidad. Un acto imperativo de crear para reflejar lo que le inquieta.
¿Qué es aquello que se le murió hace tiempo y la lleva a ir a su entierro desde entonces?
Chicas tatuadas, viudas, rosas y fuego. La Cadena pinta rostros, a menudo rostros que no existen, pero que son creados para buscar en los ojos de aquellos que los observamos un cómplice.
Un espectador que vea en ese rostro ficticio, o no, su rostro.
Unos ojos que la entiendan.
El título hace honor al proceso de creación, ya que el mensaje que carga cada una de las obras de La Cadena, sólo vislumbra cuando la pieza ha sido terminada.
Es automático, se siente dentro la necesidad de contar, por eso recuerda cada pincelada de cada cuadro. Y una vez completada la obra final, es entonces capaz de descifrar aquello que se removía en sus entrañas.

Jeriel Gerónimo es el nombre detrás de ZEMI, un artista visual multidisciplinario proveniente de Santo Domingo, RD, y establecido en Barcelona.
En 2020 durante la pandemia, decide retomar su pasión por la pintura, y lo que empezó como un ejercicio de nueva toma de contacto y pérdida de miedo, ha desembocado en ZEMI, una muestra de carácter afro indígena futurista que se manifiesta como una experiencia virtual e inmersiva, desarrollando y creando universos multidisciplinares a través de la pintura, escultura, fragancia y arte digital.
Jeriel, que, criado en familia cristiana, basa sus primeras referencias artísticas y visuales en la iconografía religiosa. Pero aquellos que aparecían en las imágenes nunca parecieron ejemplos dónde verse reflejado para un niño queer y de procedencia afrodescendiente Taína. Los taínos son los pueblos arahuacos indígenas procedentes de América del Sur durante el transcurso de 4.000 años, y de los cuales apenas queda registro de su rica cultura desde la llegada de Colón a America. La corriente afro indígena trata de cómo las personas originarias indígenas retoman su cultura en la actualidad. Es por eso que la fusión de ambos imaginarios, de sus deidades y forma de representación, se encontraron de manera inconsciente en la pintura del artista como vía de escape y de expresión.
Fue en su país de origen donde emprendió varios estudios relacionados con lo que significó el desarrollo de su técnica actual como artista. Dentro de haber estudiado publicidad y posteriormente fotografía, sus intereses siempre miraron a la parte más artística de todo aquello que le rodeaba. Pero el conocimiento fotográfico junto al retoque digital dieron pie a un dominio de la técnica y a un entendimiento de parámetros como la luz y el volumen, que a día de hoy aplica a su práctica como artista.
Como resultado, observamos deidades multidimensionales y su realidad, parajes de fantasía y misticismo donde la ambigüedad de la calma se fusiona con la destrucción, y la luz que es un punto clave y motivo de fascinación del artista desde niño.
Toda la experiencia que es ZEMI, palabra taína que significa Dios de la Tierra, nos lleva a la conexión con su núcleo, con su ser y sus raíces.

Para Tana LaKale el dibujo siempre ha formado parte de su lenguaje. Sus primeras influencias en el mundo del arte basadas en los tatuajes y la línea fueron los que le ayudaron a consolidar una base y formar parte de una comunidad artística. Durante sus estudios en Bellas Artes en Barcelona su dibujo analógico sobrecargado, barroco y en blanco y negro, acabó derivando a la ilustración digital a color, al muralismo y al mensaje político.
La intención de separarse del uso de la línea para adentrarse en aquello más pictórico, además de la escritura y el juego de palabras, le ayudaron a desarrollar su forma de comunicación actual que trata del hablar de ella misma a través de hablar de aquellos quienes la rodean, de sus amigos y gente cercana. Siempre rodeada de colegas ambiciosos, creadores, artistas y músicos, dándose espacio unos a otros en sus proyectos y forjando sus carreras de la mano. Además, la música y la creación de portadas de sencillos y álbumes a través de la ilustración, le sigue acompañando a día de hoy e influenciando en su forma de expresión.
Actualmente estudiante de arte gráfico y con una clara visión en la narrativa visual como medio, nos trae su actual proyecto Gafas de Sol Graduadas.

Esta exposición cuenta con una serie de 12 obras y en un orden y disposición equivalentes a la tracklist de un álbum como lenguaje natural de Tana. Pintura, escultura, impresión 3d, neón e ilustración digital como su clásico suyo.
Con intro, skit, outro y bonus track, la premisa de Gafas de Sol Graduadas es una oda al amor entre amigos, a los vínculos con nuestro entorno y su evolución, sus jerarquías y el lugar que ocupan en nuestras vidas. A quien te quiere bien y a quien te quiere mal, a las conversaciones, a la confianza y la cercanía y también a los giros y las experiencias negativas. Pasando por diferentes relaciones y por cómo se construyen hasta acabar de vuelta al primer amor que es el de una madre.
Porque todo lo pasado, lo bueno y lo malo, lo han vivido estos ojos con Gafas de sol Graduadas.

Emma Martín Arrufat es una artista barcelonesa con dos caracteres artísticos muy diversos, que por primera vez convergen en un mismo espacio. Emma está especializada en pintura al óleo y ha expuesto en varias instituciones locales a la par que ganado varios concursos con sus impactantes cuadros. Por otro lado, Jaune Emma es cantautora pop con una divertida propuesta musical con la que ha conquistado varios escenarios de la ciudad.
La pintura y la música siempre estuvieron ahí, hija de padres músicos, siempre estuvo expuesta a esa influencia creativa y melódica, mientras que ella de manera innata mostró inquietud por el dibujo y la pintura. Exigente con ella misma, siempre aprovechaba cualquier rato para practicar y destacar en eso que se le daba tan bien.
Por supuesto, le llevó varios años crear una narrativa y estética sólidos que hilaran todas sus creaciones, fue por la época de la pandemia que la artista desarrolló un cambio de interés sobre las expectativas ajenas y personales, además de estéticas. Su estilo en la pintura tomó un giro y se convirtió en un espacio de validación personal y en una herramienta para contar historias personales.
Sus cuadros pasaron de representar la ausencia a narrar sobre cosas presentes, momentos que formaron parte de su vida y que aún dejan huella. También utiliza archivo para hablar del reflejo de su personalidad a lo largo de los años, y de personas que han pasado por su vida.

En resumen, podríamos decir de sus pinturas que son escenas cotidianas con un aire melancólico, brutas y emocionalmente impactantes.
Y si la pintura es un canal por donde sale toda una faceta más oscura y triste, Jaune Emma nos muestra una cara más divertida, sensible y liberadora. Ambos son lenguajes muy diversos y maneras de canalizar las emociones muy distintas, y para ella la música es liberadora porque le permitió salir de la rutina que era la pintura y porque nadie tenía ninguna expectativa de una carrera musical, y eso le permitía ser auténtica y cumplir sus propias con su propio interés.
Interruptions es una exposición pictórica muy íntima sobre momentos ocurridos en la vida de la artista Emma Martín, que han generado una interrupción y un momento de pausa y asimilación. Momentos de emociones muy fuertes que se han inmortalizado para hacer de espejo al espectador, tratando las relaciones personales, momentos de nostalgia, momentos de soledad, sueños, o sentimientos reprimidos no verbalizados.

As far as her mind reaches, Sayen remembers having a pencil in her hand while dancing, painting or drawing, that is the reason her artistic practice wanders between the plastic and the scenic.
Inalmew means 'on the shores of somewhere', it originates from the indigenous Mapuche people (people of the earth), they come from Chile and as their name indicates, they are people who live by and for the land. Again, the artist's own name, Sayen, chosen by her mother, also comes from Mapudungún.
Since she was a child Sayen has been connected to art in all its aspects, labeled since then as an artist because of the clear evidence of her talent, the constant production was always something that was expected of her. Hence at one point, during her studies of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Barcelona, she decides to detach herself from the plastic arts to introduce herself in the physical because of the nostalgia for the connection with her own body. With her previous experience in dance and theater, the artist decides to begin studies in professional circus, acrobatic dance and rope, leaving everything plastic on pause for three years. Although she also abandons this material practice due to political and ideological principles related to sustainability and lack of resources.
The creation of paintings, sculptures and drawings, continues to be part of her production, which she says is a very mental process. During its course the artist declares to be fully introduced in the story she is narrating, from the beginning to the end. On the other hand, in the physical and performative, she finds a liberation that is based on intuition, it brings her back to innocence and childhood in a state where she feels a pure and direct exchange with the public.
Her works are therefore very connected with movement, female bodies as personal stories, self-portraits, naked bodies that are knotted, twisted and fragile. Sad girls with a melancholic air representing vulnerability, often through the use of pencil on small fragments of paper, as if it were a sketch, detailed and perfectionist.
Water is a repetitive element that transports the artist to her connection with the sea, coming from the island of Formentera. The sea as a return to the womb, purifying, transparent and wandering between the tender and the raw, a way of seeing the wounds as a romanticizing sadness.
The group of works that make up Inalmew, invites us to look through the peephole to the dreamlike, surreal and tiny world of the artist, Sayen Cuadrado Llahí.

First of all, hello, and thank you for joining us on KRUCOPIA. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. First, tell us a little about you—anything from your background, where you were raised, or something unique to yourself.
Thank you so much for having me, it’s a pleasure to be a part of Krucopia! Nothing extravagant I’m afraid, I was born and raised in a boring town called Basingstoke, just another suburban town in Hampshire with everything you need, but nothing you really want!
Was being an artist a conscious choice, or was it something that came very naturally to you?
It’s been a natural progression for sure. Initially, I studied fashion design and then gravitated towards fashion photography/illustration and now I’m studying Creative/Art Direction.
Would you say you've always had a natural inclination towards Art, or was it an interest you developed over time?
What I might class as art, might not be classed as art to the next person, it’s subjective. I’ve always had a natural tendency of being drawn to people and subcultures that communicate a form of self-expression, whether that be a personal, cultural or political experience.
How did you find your style? Was it based upon any specific influences?
I feel as though I’m still discovering my practise and exploring with my style so it’s difficult to say, however, I have been inspired by Art Deco and the era of the ’80s.
Can you define your Art? If so, what is it you want to communicate with it if anything at all?
I would love to think it communicates a sense of boldness! My illustrations are quite minimalistic, fluid and abstract.
How important is colour to you? If it is please explain, if not please explain.
I have a pretty specific and minimalistic approach when it comes to colour, I love to use a lot of bold colours.
Who has been your single biggest artistic and non-artistic inspiration?
People, culture and sociality. I’m inspired by a lot, but especially by club culture. Maybe because growing up music has played such prominence in my life from both my parents. So much creativity and inspiration have been born from nightlife and club culture, it provides a space to be free from reality.
What was a turning point for you as an artist? When did you begin to feel as though you really were working as an artist? (If you feel this is not applicable then what was the defining moment you decided it was the career you wanted to pursue?)
When people started to buy my work. I’ve always wanted to move to London and do something creative, I wasn’t happy to settle in a corporate job and take the conventional route.
Do you spend time investigating new techniques and researching the up-and-coming talent in the art world? Or do you just focus on your own practice and organically developing your skill over time?
I’m always looking for new inspiration. I watch a lot of documenters and do a lot of research, I often find myself in many questionable research wormholes lol but yes due to the diversity of my course, I’m learning a lot of new techniques.
What do you think about the art scene in 2021? How do you think it's changed over time?
I feel it’s more accessible due to the nature of the digital world, more people are able to showcase their work. I think the birth of NFT’s is an interesting time in the art scene, it’s an example of how the industry has evolved alongside technology.
Why are you an artist and why is it important for you to create?
I enjoy expressing myself and creating, I have a quite chaotic brain, so it’s important for me to alleviate myself in some way.
